Description Nurse Assistant Job Title: Nurse Assistant Reports To: Summit Surgical Nurse Manager Classification: Non-Exempt Exposure Determination: Position Summary: Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. Key Responsibilities: • Patient Care: Provide direct care to patients, including assistance with bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility. • Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report any significant changes to the nursing staff. • Assist in Treatment: Assist with various medical procedures and treatments under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. • Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and charts, ensuring all information is up-to-date and confidential. • Patient Support: Offer emotional support and companionship to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. • Assist with ADLs: Help patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including toileting, dressing, and transferring. • Safety: Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, following infection control and safety protocols. • Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure proper coordination of care.
