THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON BID AWARD.

Bgesh is looking for eager and qualified Certified Nurse Midwife to provide inpatient and outpatient Obstetrical and Gynecological Services to patients of the Gallup Indian Medical Center

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to provide proof of immunizations.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum twenty-four (24) months of experience as a Midwife.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to attain favorable adjudication for government clearance required by HIS
  • Ability to report in digital form with the following information and supporting documentation, regarding the services provided.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Responsibilities
  • Perform medical duties and manage patients’ needs as described in the PD, identified by the Service Unit and directed by the Supervisor.
  • Attend outpatient clinic sessions, evaluating patient complaints, making diagnoses, designing treatment plans, educating the patient and family about their condition, and initiating care.
  • Prepares prescription accurately following federal and US Public Health Service Law and Policies.
  • Assure appropriateness of drug therapy.
  • Screen patient health records to avoid inappropriate drug interactions and monitor patients for the appropriateness of therapy.
  • include but not limited to; insertion and management of birth control devices or methods and well-women’s health visits in the OB/GYN, Labor and Delivery, and Women’s Health Unit clinics
  • Render care as needed, and as scheduled for the same day clinic.
  • Perform in accordance with approved privileges through the credentialing process.
  • Abide by Gallup Service Unit Medical & Dental Staff Bylaws and Rules & Regulations.
  • Inform supervisor or designee of arrival and departure.
  • Participate in the GIMC peer review system.
  • Participate in GIMC performance improvement program within the scope of clinical activity.
  • Work with discharge planning to help facilitate timely accommodation of patient needs and prompt disposition.
  • Maintain patient records in the RPMS computer system.
  • Consult with peer Certified Nurse Midwife and OB/GYN physician or physicians from other medical disciplines whenever necessary medical or surgical inventions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
