Description JOB TITLE: CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE (CNA) JOB CODE: 51 DEPARTMENT: NURSING FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF NURSING DATE OF LAST UPDATE: 02/11/2020 JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living in order to promote resident independence and dignity. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Bathe, shower, shampoo, shave, comb hair, dress appropriately, and perform nail care for any residents assigned Follow resident assignment schedule as made out by the charge nurse Lift, move, and transfer residents as required Answer call lights in a timely manner Assist or feed residents Keep residents clean and dry by providing toileting or incontinent care Provide supportive, protective, and safe environments for residents Understand and adhere to the guidelines of “Residents Rights” and assure resident safety Other duties as assigned Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Required High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Current Nurse Aide certification in the state of Texas Must be in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in the state of Texas and Misconduct Registry Ability to understand, remember and carry out verbal and written instructions in English Ability to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with residents Preferred: ?
