Description Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our growing team. CNAs play a vital role in supporting clinic operations by assisting with patient examinations, documenting health information, and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical workflows. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms. Prepare office notes/templates for upcoming patient appointments. Accurately measure and document vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, respirations, height, and weight, in the electronic medical record (EMR). Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) following established protocols. Conduct a brief review of interim health history relevant to the physician’s examination. Notify the physician of any significant health changes, hospitalizations, or urgent concerns. Retrieve and organize necessary reports, hospital records, or other documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Assists patients in completing required forms, such as health questionnaires and medical histories, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Inform the physician when the patient is ready for examination. Provide assistance to physicians during examinations and procedures as needed. Answer telephone calls and assist with patient inquiries within the scope of knowledge and practice guidelines. Schedule patient appointments, tests, and referrals according to practice guidelines. Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient safety and confidentiality. Monitor inventory levels, order, and restock clinical supplies to ensure seamless operations. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked examination rooms. Perform additional tasks or services as directed by the physician or administrator to support the team and ensure high-quality patient care. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Current certification as a CNA in the state of Virginia. Active BLS / CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment. Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in a medical office, clinic, or other healthcare setting. Comfortable using EKG machines, sphygmomanometers, and basic clinical tools. Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
