JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including home health, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and acute care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and be skilled in assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).

EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with home health practices and outpatient clinic operations.
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy.
  • Proven ability to assist with ADLs effectively while demonstrating empathy and patience towards patients.
  • A background in occupational health is a plus, along with experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics. Responsibilities
  • Assist patients in performing daily living activities to enhance their independence and quality of life.
  • Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist, ensuring adherence to care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Provide therapy services in diverse settings such as geriatrics, pediatrics, inpatient, and outpatient environments.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment approaches as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to facilitate recovery.
  • Utilize medical imaging techniques when necessary to support treatment plans.
  • Uphold the highest standards of patient care while ensuring safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
