Under the direction and supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist with the preparation, dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications for patients of all ages. Responsibilities: Collaborate daily with nursing staff, physicians, and hospital personnel across UPMC Pinnacle. Travel between UPMC Pinnacle facilities (as mutually agreed) to support pharmacy operations. Support departmental Performance Improvement initiatives and promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of UPMC Pinnacle. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy (restocking, cleaning workstations, returning medications to stock). Complete required documentation, including medication credits, charge forms, logs, and controlled substance records. Fill, inspect, and restock medications in automated dispensing cabinets; remove expired or recalled medications. Prepare, label, repackage, and distribute medications (including non-sterile compounds and sterile IV admixtures) under pharmacist supervision. Assist with specialty and sterile product preparation (e.g., chemotherapy, epidurals) once trained, using proper aseptic technique. Deliver medications to patient care areas and process interdepartmental orders accurately and efficiently. Provide customer service support by answering phones, monitoring pneumatic tube systems, and assisting with training of staff and students. High school diploma or equivalent. Employment experience required:- Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained and maintained including required continuing education credits.
