Responsibilities: Collaborate daily with nurses, physicians, and hospital staff to ensure safe and efficient medication delivery. Prepare, dispense, and label medications—including non-sterile compounds, IV admixtures, and specialty products—under pharmacist supervision. Maintain clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy areas; restock, inspect, and remove expired or recalled medications. Fill, replace, and deliver medications to automated dispensing cabinets and patient care units. Accurately complete all documentation for charges, medication credits, logs, and controlled substances handling. Assist in training new employees and pharmacy students on procedures and best practices. Operate pharmacy equipment, including pneumatic tube systems, automated dispensing cabinets, computers, and printers. Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives. Support UPMC Pinnacle’s mission, vision, and values in all daily activities. High school diploma or equivalent. Employment experience required: Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained and maintained including required continuing education credits.
