Tasks performed contribute directly to the preparation and/or dispensing of medications while under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Provides customer service by answering phone requests and triages calls to the appropriate person if he/she cannot answer the requested information. Applies departmental processes, as guided by corporate initiatives, regarding inventory control. . Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician PRN! Position Highlights Pharmacy hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:00am - 1:00pm. We are looking for availability to pick up shifts primarily Monday - Friday with mostly 8-hour shifts. Every 4th weekend rotation both Saturday and Sunday is required. Inpatient pharmacy. Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to; stocking automated medication dispensing cabinets, compounding both nonsterile and sterile medications, contributing to batch/stat preparation, delivery to bedside, and assisting the pharmacist as needed. Dedicated training for each aspect of medication preparation and dispensing will be provided. Focused small group training provided to ensure competency in compounding sterile medications, within a segregated compounded area environment. Hospital experience is preferred. Sterile compounding experience is preferred. Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA in order to be considered. Key Responsibilities Assists the pharmacist(s) in the preparation of medications. Assists the pharmacist(s) in the distribution of medications. Assists the pharmacist(s) in processes regarding inventory control. Operates computer systems and utilizes technology. Familiarity with organization and function of all units.
