Description SUMMARY OF POSITION Assists providers, nurses, and other medical staff by performing clinical duties, such as preparing patient exam rooms, performing, and recording vitals, and blood sample collection from patients for analysis or other medical purposes. May also assist in laboratory processing functions and CLIA-waived testing, allowed within the scope of certification. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Welcomes patients and visitors in a warm, friendly, and professional manner. · Verifies patient information and identification are correct for services ordered. · Record and document patient information, including medical history. · Obtain and record vital signs. · Assist Medical staff with patient care and communications. · Clean and stock patient rooms, procedure rooms, and lab draw rooms with supplies for lab. · Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients. · Perform injections on patients, such as vaccinations. · Manage biohazard waste. · Instrument sterilization. · Upholds all infection control, specimen collection procedures, OSHA, HIPAA and regulatory body requirements to ensure cleanliness and safety of others and self. · Perform lab testing in our office laboratory (if certified by current Lab Supervisor) · Perform other duties as assigned or requested within the scope of certification. Requirements SKILLS · Excellent communication skills · Ability to maintain accurate records and attention to detail. · Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems. · Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures. · Ability to work effectively in a team and independently. · Strong organizational and time-management skills. QUALIFICATIONS · Minimum education: High School Diploma/GED · Required: Nursing Assistant Certification Medication Aide Certification · Preferred: Two years’ experience preferred. BLS Certification
