Responsibilities

The Site CSO is responsible for promoting safety awareness and demonstrating to his/her team, through day-to-day attitudes and actions, that safety performance is a high priority at Alpine Electric, Ltd. This basic responsibility shall include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Ensuring all workers on site receive an orientation and are trained and competent to complete their daily tasks
  • Providing safety and protective equipment to workers, as required
  • Enforcing all safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures through direct supervision while ensuring personnel work safely
  • Frequently inspecting worksites and documenting unsafe work practices and conditions to ensure prompt corrective action is taken when required
  • Promptly documenting all incidents and accidents as well as no loss incidents
  • Providing and documenting safety talks to team members as per company policy
  • Providing verbal recognition to his workers for good safety performance and documenting the recognition
  • Ensuring compliance with the Prime Contractor’s emergency response plan
  • Attending all job site safety committee meetings, post-meeting minutes until the next meeting (or until compliance on all outstanding safety items is resolved), and include copies of the minutes to the AWSE Office with the Monthly Safety Report
  • Ensuring the participation of the sub-contractors on the site safety committee
  • Preparing a monthly summary report of all incidents/accidents, first aid statistics, and all other information as required on the Monthly Safety Report form for Management’s review
  • Ensuring the AWSE non-compliance policy is administered and assist superintendents in addressing safety violations as mandated in the AWSE disciplinary procedures
  • Obtaining and maintaining records for all AWSE and sub-contractor site-specific safe work procedures
