Certified Surgical Tech 8 Hour - Per Diem Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, and a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist works intra operatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgeon environment for the patients. The Surgical Technologist will perform as a team member for the common good of the patient take responsibility for personal action. Education: * High school graduate or equivalent. * Graduate from a formal surgical tech training program or 1 year of acute hospital surgical technician experience required. * Certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required Experience:One year experience in a main operating room within the last two years preferred * Basic knowledge of scrub role * Handling of instruments, set up, anticipates surgeons needs * Knowledge of autoclaves * Transporting patients * Must be able to keep all information confidential. * Must be dependable, adaptable to change and have good organizational skills. Licenses and/or Certifications: * American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist prepares and handles supplies and equipment intra-operatively to maintain a safe environment for patients. They work as part of a team under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services and a Registered Nurse.
