Job Description Support safe, efficient surgical care in a collaborative operating room environment where precision, teamwork, and patient safety are essential. As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll play a critical role in preparing surgical suites, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting clinical teams throughout a wide range of procedures. Location: Iraq Position Overview The Surgical Technologist supports perioperative services by preparing operating rooms, organizing surgical instruments and supplies, and assisting surgeons and clinical staff during procedures. This role helps ensure smooth surgical workflow, adherence to infection prevention standards, and high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative process. Working alongside experienced surgical and clinical professionals, you’ll contribute to efficient procedural support, patient safety, and coordinated care in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Why Join Us Work alongside experienced surgical and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Contribute directly to patient safety and high-quality surgical outcomes Gain experience in a dynamic, mission-driven clinical environment Utilize advanced surgical skills in a collaborative operating room setting Support meaningful healthcare services for diverse patient populations Key Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by assembling instruments, equipment, sterile supplies, and ensuring procedural readiness Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards throughout surgical procedures while supporting patient safety initiatives Assist surgeons and perioperative teams during procedures by passing instruments, anticipating surgical needs, and supporting efficient workflow Support patient positioning, intraoperative monitoring, and safe transfer to recovery areas following procedures Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards Document surgical procedures, equipment usage, and supply utilization accurately within required systems and records Maintain a safe, organized clinical environment while participating in emergency response and mass casualty readiness activities Complete required organizational training, compliance education, and clinical onboarding requirements Qualifications Requirements & Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or military equivalent training program with certificate of completion (including 68D, HM8483, or 4N1X1) Current CST certification through NBSTSA or TS-C certification through NCCT required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Minimum 3–5 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience, including at least six months within the past year Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications Ability to meet pre-deployment medical, credentialing, background screening, and onboarding requirements, including eligibility for a U.S. Government MRPT clearance U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required, along with a valid U.S. passport with at least 18 months remaining before expiration Ability to relocate internationally for the duration of the assignment and communicate effectively in English Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting surgical services in military or government-supported healthcare environments Experience working in fast-paced perioperative or high-acuity surgical settings Strong interdisciplinary communication, teamwork, and procedural support skills Additional Information Privacy Disclaimer: Policy Link By clicking “I’m Interested” and submitting your application, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the applicable Privacy Policy (available via the link above) and agree that International SOS Government Medical Services, may collect, use, store, transfer, and otherwise process your personal information in accordance with that Privacy Policy for recruitment and hiring purposes.
