Description
Company Description Join Our Team at the Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of NWA Emergency medicine is unpredictable, challenging, and intense — but it’s also some of the most rewarding work you can do in veterinary medicine. At AESC of NWA, we’re building a culture where your skills matter, your voice is heard, and your work makes a real difference for pets and the people who love them. Why Join Us? At the Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of NWA, you’ll find more than just an ER — you’ll find: The only 24/7 emergency hospital consistently open in Arkansas and the first and only Animal Blood Bank in the state. An employee-led culture where every team member has a voice and support staff helps shape our policies. A CLEST-approved K9 Trauma Response Program, training police K9 handlers in lifesaving trauma care. A brand-new, state-of-the-art facility with advanced imaging, in-house labs, and cutting-edge surgical equipment. Hands-on training, mentorship, and career growth with opportunities to advance into leadership. A flexible, supportive, fun-loving team that works hard, learns constantly, and looks out for one another. About Us The Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of NWA is a well-established and rapidly growing emergency and critical care practice — and the only after-hours facility in Northwest Arkansas, as well as the only 24/7 ER consistently open in the state. Our brand-new, state-of-the-art hospital is fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house IDEXX laboratories, a ForceTriad electrosurgical system, and endoscopy capabilities. We also offer CT and MRI capabilities in-house through referral partnerships. What truly sets us apart is our employee-led culture. Here, support staff have a real voice in shaping policies and improvements, and our leadership philosophy is simple: when you take care of your team first, everything else follows. We’re also home to the first and only Animal Blood Bank in Arkansas, providing lifesaving blood and plasma to our community and shipping across the country to help animals in need. In addition, our CLEST-approved K9 Trauma Response Program trains police K9 handlers in emergency trauma and first aid — another way we extend our expertise beyond our own walls. We believe ER medicine can be the most rewarding part of veterinary medicine when you’re supported. That’s why we’re deeply committed to training, mentorship, and hands-on learning. Our technicians and assistants work at the top of their skill sets, are constantly expanding their knowledge, and have ample opportunities for leadership growth and advancement. Just as important, we value work-life balance and flexibility. We strive to accommodate scheduling requests where possible, and our team culture is built on collaboration, support, and a little fun along the way. Outside of work, Northwest Arkansas offers something for everyone: world-class art at Crystal Bridges, live music at the state’s largest amphitheater, vibrant historic downtowns, and endless outdoor adventures with four nearby state parks. At the Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of NWA, your voice matters, your skills are valued, and your growth is our priority. We’re an employee-led clinic where CVTs are empowered to practice at the top of their license, learn advanced skills, and truly shape the future of our hospital. The Reality of ER Emergency medicine is not easy — this is a demanding job where you’ll work hard every single shift. But with challenge comes reward: you’ll be hands-on with advanced cases, supported by a collaborative team, and constantly learning. We don’t just offer jobs — we build long-term careers and provide mentorship and support for wherever your career path may take you, even beyond AESC. In fact, we have not had a VA or CVT leave for another local clinic by choice in almost two years. Why Join Us? Your Voice, Your Impact: As an employee-led clinic, you’ll have a say in the decisions that influence our policies, culture, and patient care. Hands-On Skill Growth: Expand your expertise in NG tube placement, central line placement, CRI calculations, advanced anesthesia monitoring, and more. Specialization Support: Interested in pursuing VTS certification? You’ll be surrounded by peers on that journey and receive support every step of the way. Competitive Pay & Recognition: We are dedicated to title protection and ensuring CVTs are recognized for the education, time, and money invested in becoming licensed. Your job description reflects your advanced training — not that of a veterinary assistant. Low Turnover, Strong Team: Our team members build careers here, not just jobs — and our retention rate proves it. Opportunities Beyond the Clinic Leadership Pathways: CVTs looking to take on mentorship or leadership roles will find real opportunities for advancement here. Community Impact: Be part of something bigger — from Arkansas’s only animal blood bank to our CLEST-approved K9 Trauma Response Program, you’ll directly contribute to saving lives both inside and outside the clinic. What You’ll Gain A challenging but deeply rewarding role where you’ll work hard, learn constantly, and grow as a veterinary professional. A collaborative, team-driven environment where your expertise and ideas matter. Ongoing mentorship, training, and leadership opportunities to help you build a career you’re proud of. The chance to be part of an innovative, employee-led hospital making a real difference for pets, clients, and the veterinary profession.
