Future Fabricating is an AISC certified commercial ornamental fabrication company. We provide unique and specialized fabricated items needed to complete a variety of architectural and infrastructure projects. Our team of skilled craftsmen specialize in building some of the Mid-West’s most interesting ornamental architectural metal products for bridges, buildings, and streetscapes out of a variety of metals including steel, aluminum, and stainless.
Position Summary: The Quality Control Manager position will be is responsible for ensuring that all fabricated steel components meet specified quality standards, codes, and customer requirements. This role involves overseeing quality control processes, conducting inspections, managing documentation, and leading efforts to maintain and improve quality standards.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Leading the AISC Management Team
  • Conduct and report internal audits and evaluations
  • Updates documented procedures as needed
  • Maintaining the specification library,
  • Making sure the company has the current revision
  • Purchasing new specifications as required
  • Writing corrective actions and nonconformances as required (internal, external, and AISC audits)
  • Work with outside inspection agencies as required for DOT work
  • Performs welder qualifications as required
  • Work with project management and estimating performing Spec reviews
  • Write and control WPS’s and submit to clients and DOT agencies as required
  • Keep calibrated measuring equipment up to date by making sure equipment is sent out for annual calibrations.
  • Create QC binder for all jobs released to the floor: Travelers, finial approval form, inspection equipment calibration log, and project list
  • Maintains quarterly welder continuity logs.

Qualifications / Education:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED), Required
  • 5 years of experience within the structural & misc. steel industry
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification, required
  • Experience with AISC audits

Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing environment that may have high noise levels, dust, chemicals, oil, and grease.
  • Environment that may be either hot, cold or humid.
