Description Casino M8trix, a premier gaming and entertainment venue, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Controller to join our leadership team. The CFO / Controller will play a critical role in overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving the company’s financial strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader with a strong background in finance and accounting. Essential Responsibilities: Lead and direct the company’s financial strategy, operations, and activities in accordance with the Board of Directors’ directives. Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and forecasts to the management team, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. Direct and oversee the preparation of budgets and budget proposals, ensuring accurate reporting and cost control. Review and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending cost-effective solutions. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including Title 16, Minimum Internal Control Standards, and State Gaming Regulations. Oversee month-end closing, including journal entries, account analysis, and finalizing the books. Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures for all financial functions. Supervise payroll and accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial data entry and reporting. Establish and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions for company-related transactions. Advise management on insurance coverage and risk management strategies. Coordinate audits with internal and external auditors and ensure timely completion of all required audit reports. Resolve discrepancies and investigate unusual transactions and budget variances. Maintain excellent relationships with regulatory agencies, responding to inquiries and fulfilling audit or report requests as needed. Continuously review financial systems, identifying opportunities for automation and improved efficiency. Lead, mentor, and develop staff, fostering a productive, compliant, and efficient working environment. Additional duties as assigned. Direct Reports Include: Senior Accountant Paymaster Revenue Audit Clerk Count Room Manager Cage Manager Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred. Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in a senior financial role. In-depth knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with NetSuite or similar financial software. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams). Ability to communicate complex financial information to top management and external stakeholders effectively. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure. Ability to pass an in-depth background check and obtain a State Gambling License and San Jose Policy Key Employee License. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative work environment. Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and reporting. Strong mathematical, analytical, and reasoning abilities. Ability to make sound financial decisions. Ability to understand industry-specific regulations and financial controls. Schedule and Work Location: This is a full-time and in-office position, Monday to Friday. Compensation and Benefits: The pay scale for this position is: $165,000 - $255,000 annually.
