Job #4887 – Are you an accomplished and strategic financial leader with a hands-on approach and a passion for growth? Join our client, a dynamic and fast-growing construction and real estate enterprise comprised of nearly 40 companies, as their next CFO. You will play an integral role in shaping the future of this thriving multi-sector organization. Reporting directly to the President, you will be responsible for all financial planning, risk management, and compliance, while supervising a team of approximately ten finance and accounting employees. Your success in this role will be supported by your previous experience in a senior finance position, where you proved yourself to be a calm, diplomatic, well-organized, and adaptable leader. Main responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a detailed finance strategy that is aligned with the company’s objectives, while keeping stakeholders well-informed
  • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the ownership team, providing forward-thinking financial analysis and leadership to help the organization exceed performance targets
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable accounting standards, ensuring solid internal controls and audit processes
  • Identify and address financial risks and exposures
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team, including hiring, mentoring, and employee development

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting
  • Completed CPA designation required
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a Controller / Director position
  • Fluently bilingual (English / French)
  • Experience in construction or real estate and/or an MBA in finance, strategy, or management would both be considered strong assets
