The Black Health Strategy team at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a casual (18-month contract) CH&E Associate to work as part of a provincial team that supports the spread and scale of AMANI: Mental Health & Substance Use Services for Black Youth (www.amaniservices.ca). AMANI is Canada’s first hospital-community partnership dedicated to improving mental health and substance use health care for Black youth. AMANI supports a provincial network of hospital and community-based partners working together to deliver culturally responsive, evidence-based care across Ontario. The CH&E Associate will support the advancement of organizational transformation and systems changes in policies, programs and services for Black youth and their families across Ontario. The CH&E Associate will play a key role in supporting knowledge mobilization activities across various initiatives within the Black Health Strategy Portfolio, including supporting AMANI’s Mental Health & Substance Use Program (formerly, The Substance Abuse Program for African Canadian and Carribean Youth or “SAPACCY”), our demonstration project in partnership with the Toronto Northwest Justice Centre, our provincial Black Youth Advisory Panel (BYAP), and our provincial Black Youth Online Network (BYON).
You will be committed to respectful, ethical, culturally responsive and affirming programming and aware of best practices related to engagement with Ontario’s diverse Black communities. This position is located in Toronto.
