Description

CHAIR, LVHN DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), proudly part of Jefferson Health, is seeking a proven and effective leader to spearhead our Department of Psychiatry as Chair. The Chair will support the Lehigh Valley Fleming Neuroscience Institute as part of the LVHN legacy services in addition to the Psychiatry & Human Behavior service line under Jefferson Health.
The Department of Psychiatry at LVHN is one of four pillars of the Lehigh Valley Fleming Neuroscience Institute, the other pillars being the Department of Neurology, the Department of Neurosurgery, and the Fleming Memory Center. Under this Institute structure, these four key entities are devoted to the clinical, academic/research, and educational missions related to brain/nervous system and mental health in the region and beyond. The Lehigh Valley Fleming Neuroscience Institute is a system partner of the Vicky and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience of Thomas Jefferson University.
LVHN and our Department of Psychiatry are dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable place for our community to overcome life’s challenges. Our team of psychiatrists, psychologists, physician assistants, certified registered nurse practitioners, licensed clinical social workers, psychiatric nurses and occupational therapists work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for their patients.
In addition to our inpatient behavioral health services at Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Muhlenberg, LVH–Schuylkill and LVH–Pocono, we provide short-term services at LVH–Muhlenberg and LVH–Cedar Crest, which include individual, couples, family and group therapy. Our department also aids with medication management to children, adolescents and adults.
We provide a full continuum of care in behavioral health from emergency evaluation to intensive care, partial hospitalization, outpatient follow-up, homecare and skilled nursing facility consultation. We are growing the Department of Psychiatry which is comprised of more than 30 Psychiatrists and 120 mental health professionals in addition to our residency and fellowship programs.
