He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role We’re seeking a talented Change and Release Specialist to join our Digital team. Reporting to the Change Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant delivery of digital changes across Watercare. As a key member of the team, you will: Maintain and schedule activities for the development and deployment of digital changes. Gather information and track the status of all change requests and release implementations. Ensure adherence to change and release policies and processes for all environments (excluding Development). Analyse impacts and scheduling risks for projects introducing changes to production environments. Keep process, procedure, and work instruction documentation accurate and up to date. Produce and distribute weekly change and release meeting minutes. Provide robust reporting on change requests and releases, including exception reporting on high-impact, aborted, or unauthorised changes to identify process deficiencies and trends. Collaborate with Change Manager, Release Manager, delivery leads, and operations managers to manage effective code releases. Facilitate workshops with cross-functional squads to improve deployment speed and automation. Influence streamlined delivery practices across digital teams while maintaining quality and confidence. Ensure positive customer experience and promote a culture focused on meeting customer needs. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to reduce escalations and backlogs. Encourage diverse thinking to solve issues affecting delivery. Support cross-functional skill development across core Watercare applications. Promote a high-performance team culture and share knowledge to drive engagement and professional growth. Collaborate across disciplines and actively coach others. Ensure value delivery and speed within cross-functional teams. Continually update and document processes for ongoing improvement under Change and Release Management. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyse risks and impacts across multiple projects. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. A collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. Familiarity with ITIL or similar frameworks (desirable).
