Zip-Pak is the global leader in resealable solutions for the flexible packaging industry. We operate in more than 52 countries around the world with a workforce of more than 270 dedicated flexible packaging professionals.
The Channel Manager is responsible for developing and leading the Channel Sales Team to drive sustainable growth across North America. He/she will drive growth by partnering with the ‘80’(Strategic) customers to understand their needs and effectively close sales. Build and execute strategic plans with Converters, Distributors, OEM’s, and Film producers to position the Company for success over the long-range plan through growth of our ‘80’ (Top 20%) product lines with our ‘80’ (Top 20%) customers. He/She will focus on eliminating complexity within the channel to lead a growth focus. The Channel Manager will be based in Carol Stream, IL. He/She will report to the Global Sales Director of Zip-Pak. This individual will have a team of 3 direct reports and the responsibility of our North American Distributors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering or related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • At least 10 years of sales management experience, with concentration in commercial markets/channels
  • Proven business acumen with a strategic mindset
  • Packaging experience is a plus

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of time
  • Must exhibit consistent behaviors: Leadership, accountability, teamwork, delivering through others, consumer/customer focus
  • Excellent communication skills (both internally, across VP/GM & directors, and externally with customer senior management), including professional presentation skills
  • Collaborative team player and leader. Ability to work cross-functionally all levels of the organization
Responsibilities
  • BUILD AND LEAD A HIGH-PERFORMING SALES TEAMContinuously evaluate team performance and customer relationships to optimize resource planning, with a focus on the “80” customers. Provide coaching and development, and partner with Human Resources to recruit top talent as needed to support business growth.
  • DRIVE REVENUE ACROSS KEY MARKETSLead Zip-Pak’s business across Converter, Distributor, OEM, and Film end markets in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Develop and execute strategic plans to acquire new customers and exceed revenue and margin targets.
  • CHAMPION THE COMPANY’S VALUE PROPOSITIONTake a lead role in identifying, delivering, and enhancing the company’s value proposition within the sales channel.
  • LEVERAGE THE ITW FTB 80/20 BUSINESS MODELBuild expertise in applying the ITW FTB 80/20 model to strategically lead sales efforts and drive sustainable growth.
  • DEVELOP MARKET-DRIVEN SALES STRATEGIESCreate and refine sales strategies based on customer feedback and market dynamics. Collaborate with Marketing and Innovation to identify growth opportunities and set the strategic direction by market.
  • FOSTER KEY CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPSBuild strong, personal relationships with key “80” customers to drive customer-back innovation and deliver differentiated products, services, and collaborative solutions.
  • COLLABORATE ACROSS FUNCTIONSWork closely with peers and cross-functional teams to drive channel, brand, and sales growth while improving margins.
  • UTILIZE DATA-DRIVEN INSIGHTSAnalyze data to meet sales targets, understand competitive business models, benchmark products, and align offerings with market needs. Execute strategic business plans accordingly.
