Location: Vancouver, BC
Our client, a respected long-term care and assisted living organization in Vancouver, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to lead their Pastoral Care Program. This unique opportunity combines faith-based leadership with holistic healthcare in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • CAPPE or ACPE Certification as a Specialist in Pastoral Care.
  • Membership with NAJC or CASC (or both).
  • Education in counseling, psychology, social work, or theology.
  • Ability to lead Jewish worship, rituals, and provide pastoral care within the Jewish tradition is required.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong counseling, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Experience working with seniors, including those with cognitive or mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

As Chaplain, you will provide spiritual and emotional care to residents, families, and staff. You will play a vital role in:

  • Offering individualized spiritual support, grief counseling, and crisis intervention.
  • Leading Jewish religious services and life-cycle rituals, ensuring continuity of Jewish spiritual life within the residence.
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to support residents at every stage of life, including palliative and end-of-life care.
  • Educating and guiding staff, residents, and the community in spiritual wellness.
  • Serving as a resource for families in times of decision-making and transition.
