Mō te tūranga | About the Role We are on the lookout for a Chapter Lead to join our growing team here at Westpac! As a Chapter Lead, you will be responsible for taking a critical leadership role within this expanding chapter and the wider organisation. Day to day you’ll be responsible for leading a team across their development within Product Ownership and ensuring best practice across this discipline. You’ll also support the formulation and development of strategies, that enable Westpac to identify opportunities to remove pain points, strive for continual improvement and make step change in the delivery of product to improve the product experience for our staff and customers. This role will suit someone who has a demonstratable passion for great customer experiences driven through resilient financial services achieved through supporting people to grow and develop their craft. To do this you will have a deep understanding of Product Ownership, our customers, and our competitors. You will be customer outcome focused, a self-starter and motivated to deliver change and value. You will be a Product Owner standout, promoting and entrenching the chapter across Westpac, helping lift the overall Product Owner visibility and buy-in across our organisation. You will also bring experience in managing complex relationships and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will come from a strong people leadership background and have a real passion for developing & mentoring the existing Product Owners within the chapter. Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring? 5+ years’ experience of building and leading high performing teams within complex environments. 6+ years’ experience with product development or product ownership craft in a large enterprise, Preferably in the financial services industry. Experience working in the professional services industry (Insurance and/or underwriting, Banking would be advantageous). Experience of enabling the delivery of value with a strong focus on business and customer outcomes. Proven innovation management skills, with the ability to bring creative ideas to life. Proven experience & ability to lead and deliver strategy and business outcomes in a large and complex organisation. A growth mindset with the ability to drive change through a large organisation. Strong stakeholder management skills to guide individuals to a fast and effective outcomes. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
