Job Description As a Resort Mascot/Character Performer, you’ll be at the heart of guest engagement—creating unforgettable moments for families and visitors from around the country. Whether greeting guests in the lobby or entertaining crowds at our legendary rodeo events, you’ll bring our resort mascot to life with enthusiasm, professionalism, and charm. Key Responsibilities: Perform as a costumed character (mascot), wearing a full-body costume including head, torso, arms, and feet. Costume fits individuals 5'0"–5'10" and weighs up to 15 lbs. Maintain full character integrity using only non-verbal communication and animated body language. Interact warmly with guests of all ages, especially children—pose for photos, give high-fives, and spread smiles throughout the resort. Appear at key locations like the lobby, marina, rodeo arena, general store, and event spaces. Attend and engage at resort events including welcome parties, rodeo nights, and holiday celebrations. Distribute fun giveaways such as balloons, stickers, snacks, or drinks to families. Serve as mascot handler when needed to ensure crowd control, character safety, and guest engagement. Support lobby greets and sales floor traffic when mascot duties are not required. Follow resort training guidelines and maintain a consistent, high-quality guest experience. Perform additional tasks as needed to support the entertainment and guest services teams. Qualifications Experience: 1–2 years in hospitality, entertainment, or customer service preferred. Previous mascot or performer experience a strong plus. Education: High school diploma or GED. Skills & Traits: Energetic, positive, and outgoing personality Strong guest engagement and non-verbal communication skills Ability to perform in costume for extended periods, including outdoors and in Florida weather Dependable with excellent time management Comfortable lifting up to 15 lbs and working in humid, warm, or outdoor conditions A genuine passion for bringing joy and fun to others!
