Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

PERMANENT - 37 OR 34.5 HRS PER WEEK WILL BE CONSIDERED.

Critical Care on the IRH site includes a mixed High Dependency and Coronary Care Unit with facilities for stabilising patients requiring Intensive Care prior to transfer. Working in IRH Critical Care requires the use of critical care skills and knowledge in providing person centred care to a wide group of patients requiring level 1, 2 and 3 critical care and interventions.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated Registered Nurse with critical care experience to join our critical care multidisciplinary team caring for both emergency and elective patients across a variety of medical and surgical specialities. We work in partnership to provide a high level of specialist care pathways and closer nursing observations for critically ill patients. Successful candidates will work in a busy and challenging environment to ensure a high standard of person centred care is delivered to critically ill patients with one or more organ failure requiring organ support, specialist care and closer nursing observations. You will be part of a senior team delivering care from admission to discharge from critical care and as patient’s needs differ, you will be required to tailor your approach to a broad range of individuals and circumstances to meet the patients’ needs. You will support the Senior Charge Nurse whilst providing clinical cover and having shift responsibilities for staff leadership and management.
We are looking for caring, compassionate Registered Nurses with excellent critical care skills, evidence of professional development and an ability to demonstrate both professional and leadership qualities to join and lead our teams in a band 6 Charge Nurse role. As a service we will support you to continuously develop. With support of our Practice Educator and senior team, you will benefit from access to the right development and support through a strong educational and quality improvement ethos.
Applications are invited from registered nurses with current registration with NMC and a minimum of 3 years post registration experience within a critical care environment.
For further information please call: Jackie Doolan, Senior Charge Nurse on Tel: 01475 504440
Informal visits to the units prior to interview are welcome and can be arranged in advance by telephoning the above contacts.
