About Us City Doctors is a well-established clinic in Palmerston North, delivering both urgent care and enrolled general practice services as part of the respected White Cross network. The clinic supports a wide range of patient needs, from preventative care and long-term condition management to acute illness and injury, and is the only urgent care provider in the region. Conveniently located on Victoria Avenue with on-site parking and integrated services including X-ray, pharmacy and dental, City Doctors offers a fast-paced, community-focused environment where clinicians make a real impact. The clinic is open 7 days a week, 8:00am to 8:00pm, providing consistent, accessible care to patients and whānau. About the Role As a Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting the junior nurses and providing professional nursing leadership. This position involves both clinical and operational responsibilities, ensuring excellent patient care and smooth clinic operations. Working Hours: 0.8 FTE Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Support – Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, fostering a positive team culture. Clinical Excellence – Deliver high-quality nursing care, including triage, wound care, plastering, and administering medications. Patient Care & Safety – Ensure all nursing interventions align with best practices and patient safety protocols. Operational Support – Assist in clinic coordination, rostering, and workflow management. Compliance & Documentation – Maintain accurate patient records and uphold professional nursing standards. Health & Safety – Promote a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations. What You Need Current NZNC Annual Practicing Certificate Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably in primary health care or emergency nursing. Proven leadership skills and the ability to support and mentor a team. Strong decision-making and clinical assessment abilities. Experience with Medtech Evolution or Medtech 32 (desirable). Certified vaccinator and trained smear taker (mandatory requirement) Understanding of Tikanga Māori, Kawa Māori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Legal rights to work in New Zealand. How to Apply?
