WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We need a motivated individual for the position of CHARIOT Participant Engagement & Administration Assistant to help support the team in a dynamic clinical research environment.

  • Be detail orientated with excellent organisational skills.
  • Be able to work independently whilst as part of a larger team.
  • Be able to welcome change and be prepared to work flexibly across different areas of work.
  • Be educated to a minimum A- level standard or equivalent experience.
  • Have experience of administrative work in a busy office environment.
  • Have experience and understanding of accurate data management.
  • Have experience of working in a clinical environment.
  • Have experience managing diaries and scheduling appointments.
  • Possess demonstrable knowledge of handling confidential information and an understanding of current legislation and requirements.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an important public engagement and administrative support position, where you will use your strong communication skills to liaise with research volunteers and Unit staff.
The role will play a vital part in the Unit’s goals of engaging with the public, in dementia prevention research. You will support the delivery of a wide portfolio of research projects.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

  • You will be required to provide core administrative and business support, specifically to the CHARIOT Research Register and related clinical research studies being carried out in the department.
  • You will recruit and screen participants to ensure that study recruitment targets are achieved, and that participant retention is kept to a maximum.
  • You will provide administrative support to the register and study delivery team – including the Study Coordinators, Clinical Research Fellows, Database Manager and Psychologists.
  • You will understand the principles of informed consent and recognise when consent does not meet required standards, and deal with or raise any issues with someone senior in the team.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, up-to-date and complete.
