Deafblind UK is a well-established charity and our mission is to enable people living with deafblindness through holistic care and assistance, pioneering research, transformative education, influential advocacy, and innovative technology integration. Our charity shops play a crucial role in supporting our mission by raising funds and promoting our cause to the local community.
We are opening a new shop in Cambridge Orchard Park and we are on the lookout for someone to actively drive sales to make this new shop a great success.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As Charity Shop Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our shop in Rivergate. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead a team of volunteers, manage stock, ensure a high standard of customer service, and maximize sales to support the charity’s objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the smooth running of the charity shop, ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively. Ensuring that budgets are met for shop sales, gift aid and online.
  • Manage and motivate a team of volunteers, providing training and support to ensure a positive working environment.
  • Ensure the shop floor is well-presented and displays are attractive and engaging.
  • Oversee stock management, including sorting, pricing, and displaying donated items.
  • Promote the charity and its initiatives to customers, raising awareness and driving donations.
  • Maintain health and safety standards in the shop, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Handle cash, daily takings, and banking in line with charity procedures.
  • Regularly report on shop performance to the charity’s management team.
  • Develop strategies to maximize shop sales, working with the team to achieve targets.
