JOB SUMMARY

  • Maintain excellent visual merchandising, contributing to large-scale creative displays that reflect the shop’s unique aesthetic.
  • Ensure optimum stock density by working closely with the Store Manager and warehouse team.
  • Support the clearance of take-off items and lower-value stock, ensuring effective resale or repurposing for upcycling initiatives.
  • Promote and implement the hospice’s stock generation strategy.
  • Ensure high customer service standards, handling complaints professionally and escalating issues where necessary.
  • Assist in managing the security of the shop, ensuring proper opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming shopping environment, conducting regular safety inspections and addressing maintenance issues.
  • Oversee cash handling and administration, ensuring compliance with hospice policies.
  • Support the creation of social media content, working with the Store Manager to showcase the shop’s offerings and initiatives.
  • Contribute to shop events, promotions, and community initiatives to drive footfall and engagement.
  • Deputise for the Store Manager
  • Support and develop volunteers, fostering a strong community-driven retail space with a passion for recycling and sustainability.
  • Encourage volunteer recruitment and engagement, helping to create a shop culture that aligns with the three Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
  • Provide day-to-day communication and direction to volunteers and staff.
  • Assist with staff rotas, ensuring adequate shop coverage and effective workload distribution.
  • Help develop staff training programs, supporting volunteer skill-building and career development.
  • Attend and contribute to retail meetings, sharing best practices and shop performance insights.
