This fully remote position, with a strong preference for candidates based in Newfoundland, offers a unique opportunity to combine technical accounting expertise with strategic client advisory, business development, and leadership responsibilities.

EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:

  • CPA designation (in good standing)
  • 3–5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in a public practice or client-facing role
  • Proficiency in corporate tax, year-end financials, and remittance filing
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence working independently in a remote environment
  • Familiarity with modern cloud accounting tools and paperless workflows
  • Based in Canada; preference given to candidates living in Newfoundland or the Atlantic region

Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple client files
  • Prepare and review corporate year-ends, compilation engagements, and financial statements
  • File corporate tax returns, HST, and payroll remittances
  • Act as the primary financial advisor for assigned clients
  • Support and mentor junior accounting team members
  • Identify process improvements and growth opportunities internally and externally
  • Stay current with relevant tax and accounting standards
  • Participate in weekly virtual team check-ins
