Position Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and growth-oriented Junior Accountant who is ready to take on more than just accounting tasks. This is a unique opportunity to work directly under a respected financial leader with over 30 years of experience and play an active role in a long-term succession plan.
Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you’ll receive mentorship, be involved in strategic financial planning, and gradually assume leadership responsibilities. This role is ideal for a newly designated CPA—or someone nearing designation—who is passionate about building a long-term career in New Brunswick.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and transparency in financial reporting
  • Participate in audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
  • Maintain compliance with applicable financial regulations and internal controls
  • Work directly with the Head of Accounting to understand organizational financial strategies
  • Take initiative in identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement
  • Ability and willingness to transition into a leadership role over time as part of a defined succession plan

Qualifications

  • CPA designation completed or near completion
  • 1+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred (public or industry)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and initiative
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to long-term company success
  • Committed to staying and growing within New Brunswick

What We Offer

  • Direct mentorship from an experienced financial leader
  • Clearly defined long-term succession plan and leadership growth path
  • Competitive salary and full benefits package
  • Participation in a company incentive share plan
