Job Description In this role, you will manage all aspects of component design and release, specifically: Design & Release: Manage the release of components, bill of materials (BOM), CAD drawings, and change notices. Performance Management: Ensure products meet functional, cost, and weight targets while directing packaging within the vehicle environment. Supplier & Quality Management: Manage supplier and internal DVPRs and DFMEAs; oversee the PPAP process and coordinate with Purchasing and Quality teams. Validation & Testing: Execute design verification plans and physical testing to ensure component reliability. Operational Support: Provide vehicle build support, resolve engineering issues, and assist with product launches (AQP/PSO) and maintenance of carryover products. Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution (or ABET equivalent). Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated mechanical engineering aptitude through professional work experience or advanced academic projects. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience: 1–5 years of experience specifically in brake design, development, and validation. Technical Skills: Strong GD&T skill set and proficiency in engineering disciplines (DVPR, DFMEA, etc.). Quality & Problem Solving: Formal training in problem-solving and reliability; Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green Belt or Black Belt certification. Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience in the manufacturing of brake components and vehicle assembly processes.
