QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of automotive industry experience, mostly focused on chassis systems
  • Excellent problem-solving ability using tendency to resolve using basic principles and data driven action
  • Hands-on practical experience in prototype development
  • Competency with data acquisition tools (hardware and software)
  • Proven 3D CAD skills
  • Project management skills
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 25%, if needed

RELEVANT SKILLS

  • Knowledge/experience in general data logging and instrumentation methods.
  • Prototype vehicle test driving experience/certification
  • Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles
  • Knowledge of NVH principles
  • Ability to run CAE analysis tools
  • Driven-vehicle attributes development experience
  • Some design release engineering experience, to enable appreciation of product development process and how Validation fits into that process.

EDUCATION

  • BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities
  • Development, co-ordination, planning and execution of Chassis Mechanical development and validation efforts, ranging in scope from component-level to full-vehicle-level, across multiple vehicle programs
  • Identification, installation, and calibration of relevant data-acquisition systems
  • Design/specify relevant fixtures or testing hardware where required
  • Post-process and analyze data; create reports; collaborate with others to assess pass/fail judgements
  • Develop test specifications/methods for unique Chassis validation requirements including ad-hoc testing as required
  • Take charge of HiL activities
  • Provide consultation on the generation of component and system DVP’s (Design Verification Plan)
  • Serve as Chassis liaison in cross-functional validation efforts or other Lucid internal functions
  • Work closely with both internal teams and external resources, using creativity and teamwork to validate/develop multiple systems in the most efficient way possible
  • Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps for future vehicles
