Your real-world experience in chassis maintenance is invaluable for training the next generation of technicians. We're looking for skilled professionals who want to share their expertise while continuing to work with the equipment they know best. Key Responsibilities for Chassis & Trailer Technician Instructors: * Teach using your hands-on chassis repair experience * Utilize approved course materials and teaching methods while enriching lessons with your field experience * Maintain chassis to safety standards * Provide mentorship and technical training to students and team members * Facilitate student-centered learning and deliver technical objectives * Communicate and enforce school policies while advising students on attendance, grades, and discipline * Develop learning aids and assessments * Collaborate with departments to support program goals * Demonstrate professionalism and adjust teaching to accommodate different learning styles * Keep accurate records of attendance and grades * Offer academic support, tutoring, and skills enhancement Key Requirements for Chassis & Trailer Technician Instructors: * Experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining systems commonly found on intermodal chassis used in port and terminal environments, including: * Air brake systems * Chassis electrical systems (7-way connectors, lighting circuits, and basic electrical troubleshooting) * Wheel ends and suspension systems * Structural frames and assemblies * Preventative maintenance and safety inspections * Chassis defect identification and documentation * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills * Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Strong public speaking and interpersonal abilities * Up to 50% travel Monday through Friday * Ability to obtain TWIC card Preferred Certifications (Not Required): * Refrigerant Handling License * Welding Certification  * IICL Certification * FMCSA Certification Benefits: Join our established and successful Skilled Trade programs with proven graduate outcomes Well-equipped training facility with industry-standard equipment Stability with a well-established institution (75+ years) Professional development and advancement opportunities Full-time Comprehensive: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/Disability Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Paid Time Off and Holidays Why Join Us?
