Operations Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Check Cashing Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure compliance in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of check-cashing and money-services businesses, and a proven track record in operations management, sales growth, and regulatory compliance. This role is crucial for ensuring operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, financial health, and overall business success.
* Operations Oversight
* Lead and manage daily operations across multiple retail locations, with a focus on check cashing, money transfer, and ancillary financial services.
* Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations governing check cashing, money transmission, and financial services.
* Oversee profit & loss (P\&L) management to ensure financial sustainability and profitability.
* Team Leadership & Development
* Supervise staff, providing guidance, training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performance environment.
* Enforce compliance policies and operational procedures, ensuring all employees follow best practices and maintain customer service standards.
* Strategic & Business Development
* Develop and implement strategic plans that align with company objectives and drive growth in check cashing and financial services.
* Drive sales strategies to expand customer base and increase transaction volumes.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project management initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational processes.
* Process Improvement & Risk Management
* Identify opportunities for efficiency and process improvement across stores and back-office operations.
* Implement best practices to minimize risk, prevent fraud, and ensure secure handling of financial transactions.
* Maintain strong vendor, banking, and regulatory relationships to support business continuity.
Requirements
* Proven experience in operations management within the check cashing, financial services, or retail money services industry.
* Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements (BSA/AML, FinCEN, state licensing, etc.).
* Demonstrated ability to manage P\&L, including financial reporting and cost control.
* Exceptional leadership capabilities, fostering teamwork and accountability across diverse teams.
* Supervisory experience with a focus on staff development, training, and retention.
* Experience in business development, sales strategies, and customer engagement.
* A track record of implementing successful process improvements and compliance programs.
