Description
Overview The Checker is responsible for accurately recording, verifying, and reporting cargo movements during vessel, warehouse, and trucking operations. This role ensures proper documentation of cargo counts, conditions, and damages while assisting with general labor duties as required. The Checker plays a critical role in maintaining accuracy, accountability, and efficiency in terminal and stevedoring operations. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Record and tally cargo discharged from vessels, noting type, quantity, and condition. Document and report any visible damages during vessel, warehouse, or truck operations. Tally cargo being loaded from warehouse to trucks, containers, or other outbound conveyances. Verify final cargo counts and condition after trucks or containers are fully loaded. Communicate discrepancies, shortages, or damages to supervisors promptly. Assist in the preparation and submission of tally sheets, reports, and documentation. Support general labor duties, including cargo handling, securing, or basic warehouse tasks, as directed. Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining a safe work environment. Collaborate with stevedores, warehouse staff, and supervisors to ensure smooth cargo operations. Qualifications Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in logistics, inventory, or warehouse operations preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer skills and ability to use data entry systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions. Good communication skills and teamwork mindset. Must be able to obtain a TWIC card. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or walk for extended periods. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs. occasionally. #Logistec_us
