Description The Gourmet Cheese Associate PM is responsible for preparing, wrapping, weighing, labeling, and pricing a variety of specialty cheeses, as well as assisting in the olive bar area. This role supports the Gourmet Cheese Department by delivering excellent customer service, maintaining product quality, and ensuring a clean, organized, and inviting department. The associate works under the direction of the Gourmet Cheese Department Manager and plays a key role in creating a premium customer experience. Requirements • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including counters and displays, following Seed to Table and Gourmet Cheese Department guidelines and food safety procedures • Stock, rotate, and replenish products in storage areas and display cases to ensure freshness and presentation • Provide friendly customer service by assisting customers and explaining cheese and olive bar products • Cut, wrap, weigh, and package cheeses accurately • Ensure proper dating, labeling, and inventory control of all department products • Support other department-related tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly • Follow all safety procedures, including wearing cutting gloves when using knives, slicers, or sharp tools • Wear non-slip shoes to maintain a safe working environment (not provided by the company) • Must have reliable transportation MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Professional attitude with a passion for hospitality and customer service • Ability to promote sales, sample/taste cheeses, merchandise products, and maintain a clean department • Basic math skills and ability to interpret simple data as needed • Willingness to learn and become knowledgeable about department products • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Previous experience cutting and wrapping cheeses is a plus Physical Demands: Stand and/or Walk: Able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Capable of lifting and/or pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Tolerance to Environmental Conditions: Able to work in various temperatures, including hot, humid, and cold environments, as well as tolerate moderate amounts of dust and cleaning agents. Allergies: Must be able to work with a wide variety of fresh products without experiencing negative allergic reactions. Flexibility and Mobility: Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and move around as needed. Step-stool and Ladder: Ability to utilize a step-stool or a ladder. Physical Balance: Able to maintain physical balance and stability while performing tasks. Manual Dexterity: Proficient in both gross and fine manipulation. Reaching: Capable of reaching below or at the waist and overhead. Communication Skills: Effective speaking skills to convey instructions and communicate with coworkers clearly and accurately, especially in a loud or busy environment. Vision: Peripheral vision and near and far visual acuity are essential. Hearing: Ability to hear and respond to inquiries and instructions effectively in a busy environment.
