Description Join the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery - Menomonie location for great benefits, paid time off and more! This position works four-10 hour shifts: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. No weekends and off Wednesdays! Starting wage is $20.00/hr, then increase to $22.00/hr at 120 days! Plus, a $1.00 night shift bonus for hours worked between 6pm to 6am. Job Title: Make Room - Cheese Processor Reports to: Production Supervisor Supervises: None Hours: 8:00am - 6:00pm, working on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday Location: Menomonie General Description: This position is general employment. You need to foster an environment of trust and open communication while developing your talent for your future and the future of the organization. This position must practice and guide the safety of all employees as they produce a quality product. In this position you must interact well with all the other departments of the cooperative. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Read, record and communicate the pH control of cheese 2. Able to set up, work and change cheese tables 3. Attention to detail is a must 4. Level the cheese into shapes, flip and remove the cheese from the shapes 5. Know and follow the proper operations for the brine room 6. Pick by hand as well as pump cheese into shapes 7. Monitor lines, wash tanks, and ensure proper starter measurement 8. Cleaning and disinfection are continuous throughout the shift 9. Proper Operation of Serum Pumps 10. When necessary, you should be able to rework the cheese 11. Correctly record production data as needed. 12. Maintain a sanitary workspace in accordance with the company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). 13. You must know all the operations and duties of the manufacturing room. 14. Maintain open communications with all departments. 15. Willing to learn other positions. 16. Follow all current company policies and procedures. 17. All other duties appropriate to the position or as assigned. Requirements Required (basic) education/experience/competencies and other skills: Must be punctual, dependable, and responsible. Ability to read and follow directions. Written and verbal communication skills. Basic proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Computer knowledge preferred but will train. High school diploma or equivalent. Eagerness to learn and work in the dairy food industry. Physical demands Ability to lift 50+ pounds repetitively. Stand for a minimum of 8 hours or more per shift. Squatting, kneeling, bending, and using stairs. Pass a drug and alcohol screening test, as well as a general background check. Work Environment/Environmental Condition: Plant-based food environment. You must comply with all food and plant safety policies and regulations.
