Description
A 34m performance charter sailing yacht is seeking a seasonal Chef, with the possibility for the role to become full-time for the right candidate. The ideal start date is around March in Mallorca, with the summer season spent cruising Corsica, Sardinia, the Greek Ionian Islands and Croatia. Winters are Mallorca based. The yacht operates with a total of five crew living onboard, plus a chase boat with a dedicated crew member. Guest numbers are up to eight, and the program is a mix of private and charter, with many repeat clients returning year after year. The owner enjoys light Mediterranean and Italian-style cuisine, and is looking for a chef who can deliver delicious, well-balanced food for both charter guests and owner use. A strong focus on healthy, varied meals for the crew is also important. The successful candidate will be organised and confident producing sample menus for charter guests, adapting to individual preferences and dietary requirements, and managing provisioning efficiently. Some restaurant experience is welcomed but not essential. Previous experience on sailing yachts would be a strong advantage, as an understanding of the additional challenges of cooking under sail is beneficial. This role would suit a motivated, adaptable chef who enjoys a dynamic sailing program, enjoys the challenge of charters, and is looking to join a friendly, professional team for a busy Mediterranean season. Qualifications required: Industry experience as sole chef on a sailing yacht - minimum 1-2 years.
