OVERVIEW

We are seeking a talented and passionate Lead Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work independently and also direct a team.
The role is very diverese. Some days are 4 hours over lunchtime, serving snack-type food, others may be catering for a function of up to 85 in the evening for a buffet or set menu.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Chef in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with staff and customers alike.
  • A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities
  • Develop innovative and managable menus that reflect the customers requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
