We’re looking for a hardworking chef to join our brigade for the summer season.

We’re an award-winning seafront restaurant in Margate, known for our fresh, seasonal, and sustainable seafood, vibrant service, and a fast-paced but supportive team environment.
This summer, we’re looking for a passionate, reliable Chef to join our kitchen brigade and help deliver high-quality, beautifully presented food during our busiest months.

Responsibilities

SUMMER CHEF – SEASONAL ROLE

Location: Buoy and Oyster, Margate
Pay: £13 per hour + share of service charge
Hours: Full-time / Fixed-term (July & August)
Start Date: Early July

THE ROLE

This is a hands-on role in a busy, high-standard kitchen. You’ll be working with fresh ingredients, supporting our head chef and kitchen team to prepare and serve dishes in line with our standards.
You must be confident working under pressure and have a genuine love for food and service. Experience in a professional kitchen is essential – ideally 1+ year in a similar environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepping and cooking menu items to a high standard
  • Working cleanly, efficiently, and in a team-focused way
  • Communicating well with the FOH and kitchen teams
  • Maintaining high food hygiene and safety standards
  • Helping with cleaning, stock rotation, and daily checklists
  • Bringing a calm, positive energy to the kitchen – even during the rush
