Part-Time Chef (30 hrs/week) – Busy Bees at Wellard
Location: Wellard, Perth, WA
Licensed Capacity: 104 places
Hourly Rate: $30.93 (Support Worker 3.1)
At Busy Bees at Wellard, we’re passionate about creating a nurturing and healthy environment where children thrive. We’re looking for an experienced Part-Time Chef to join our kitchen team and provide delicious, nutritious meals for our children, working 30 hours per week across Monday to Friday.
Previous experience working in a childcare setting is desirable for this role.
About the Role

As our Centre Chef, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and serve fresh meals and snacks for children aged 0–5
  • Develop rotating menus that meet dietary, allergy, and cultural needs
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment at all times
  • Manage inventory, food ordering, and kitchen documentation
  • Work closely with the Centre Director and Educators to support overall wellbeing

What You’ll Need

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Experience working in a childcare environment (mandatory)
  • A current and valid Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one
  • Valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
  • Understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations
  • Strong time management, planning, and communication skills
