Chef (Childcare Experience) – Busy Bees at Yerrabi Ponds
Gungahlin, ACT | Licensed for 90 places | Hourly Rate: $30.93
Bring your passion for nutrition and children’s wellbeing to our Busy Bees kitchen! We’re looking for a dedicated Chef to join our team at Busy Bees at Yerrabi Ponds on a part-time basis (up to 35 hours per week).

About the Role

  • Prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals daily for children aged 0–5
  • Create seasonal menus that meet dietary and allergy requirements
  • Maintain a clean, hygienic, and compliant kitchen environment
  • Manage food orders, stock rotation, and budget-friendly planning
  • Work collaboratively with educators to support mealtime routines
  • Ensure food safety plans and documentation are always up to date

What You’ll Need

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working in a childcare environment
  • Knowledge of allergies, food intolerances, and safe meal planning
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • A genuine love for cooking and supporting young children’s health
