Overview:
Located in Sayville, Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehabilitation is a 100-bed skilled nursing facility and department of Good Samaritan Hospital. The residents of the nursing home are a medically complex population requiring full-time care. The Chef is responsible for the planning, preparation and service of assigned meals to residents, staff in an expeditious manner. Maintains stringent sanitation procedures for food preparations and cleaning. Supervises kitchen staff to ensure established routines and procedures are being followed. Performs other related duties and tasks as may be assigned.
Job Details:

REQUIREMENTS

• High school graduate or equivalent. Suffolk/Nassau County Food Handler’s Certificate or ServSafe Certificate. Completion of a 120-hour Food Service Manager Program preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to stand for long period of time. Able to bend and lift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• 2 years’ experience as a cook in a nursing home or similar setting preferred.
  Posted Salary Range: USD $25.00 - USD $30.50 /Yr. :
  The pay for this position ranges from $25.00 - $30.50 per hour.
  This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
