We pride ourselves on combining traditional African recipes with the highest standards of food preparation in line with UK regulations. We are now seeking a skilled Cook with experience in African cuisine to join our professional kitchen team.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of African dishes to consistently high standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent knowledge of African culinary traditions, and a commitment to maintaining food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of authentic African dishes to specification.
- Ensure food presentation and portion sizes meet company standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with UK food hygiene regulations.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management.
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver smooth service.
- Adapt dishes to meet customer dietary requirements where necessary.
- Support with menu development and seasonal specials.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a cook or chef, ideally specialising in African cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of African ingredients, flavours, and cooking techniques.
- Food Hygiene and Safety certification (Level 2 or above preferred).
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
