JOB SUMMARY

Akara is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and culinary techniques, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a CDP, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that dishes are prepared efficiently and to the highest standards. This position requires leadership qualities and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience as a CDP or in a similar culinary role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Leadership experience or skills in supervising kitchen staff is advantageous.
  • A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and health standards.
  • Supervise kitchen staff during food preparation and cooking processes, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist in the management of kitchen operations, including inventory control and stock rotation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
  • Participate in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
