Mō te Tūranga | About the Role We sat down with our Hospitality Manager, and they let us know the following about the role. This unique opportunity in a permanent, full-time kitchen position, based in Auckland at BNZ Place, 80 Queen St. This is a Monday to Friday role, and we do require some flexibility to work evening shifts for events. What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this role will complete? Prepare and present high quality, fresh food offerings for a modern corporate café, ensuring variety and alignment with seasonal menus. Deliver catering for internal meetings, events, and functions, with a focus on exceptional taste, presentation, and dietary requirements. Ensure food is consistently prepared to a high standard and delivered on time, every time. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop rotating menus that reflect staff preferences, sustainability goals, and emerging food trends. Assist in the management of day-to-day kitchen operations including food preparation, storage, cleaning, and waste management. Maintain strict compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations. What projects / mahi (work) will the candidate be working on now and into the next year? In your first six months you will be assisting the Head Chef to lead out and establish an in-house café and catering service at BNZ Place Auckland, as well as following the operating frameworks. Your expertise will contribute to the overall workplace experience, making our Auckland corporate office a hub of collaboration and engagement. What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity? Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a café, restaurant, or catering environment. Proven ability to prepare diverse, high-quality dishes at volume. Strong understanding of New Zealand food safety legislation and commercial kitchen operations.
