The Canberra Rex Hotel is a multi-faceted property able to cater for many different experiences across different locations on-site.
The Howling Moon is Canberra’s first rooftop bar. We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional experience with panoramic views and signature food and beverages.
Our cocktail lounge, Swan & King was developed to compliment our restaurant which services breakfast, dinner and room service seven days a week.
We also have extensive banqueting spaces.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for individuals who are customer orientated, with a friendly, fun and energetic disposition.
It is essential that you possess exceptional communication skills and that you can work independently but are a team player. You will have the ability to work well under pressure whilst always maintaining a professional attitude.
You are experienced in leading, training and motivating a team.
Be reliable and flexible in your availability to work a variety of shifts, including late nights, early mornings, weekends and public holidays

REQUIREMENTS

• A formal Commercial Cookery Certification
• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Chef de Partie or an experienced Demi Chef ready to take the next step in their career
• High level customer service skills, professionalism and personal presentation
• Prior experience leading and supporting a busy kitchen in a high-volume banqueting and à la carte environment
• Understanding of food safety, WHS and HACCP principles
• Prior experience in a leadership role
• Flexibility to work on a rotating roster, Monday - Sunday
  The Canberra Rex Hotel is located in Braddon, and is home to boutique accommodation, event spaces and multiple food and beverage outlets, including The Howling Moon rooftop bar as well as a great team!

As a CDP, you will be a key member of our Kitchen Team, helping us to ensure we provide an exceptional experience for all our guests.

This role will include:

• Assistance with menu creation
• Management of cost control
• Training, supporting and leading our team members
• Assist in all aspects of our Kitchen department
• Assist with staff rostering
• Assist with the overall management of the Kitchen operations within the Hotel in conjunction with management
