CHEF DE PARTIE JOB DESCRIPTION – COACH HOUSE COFFEE, KILMACTHOMAS, CO. WATERFORD

Coach House Coffee is a vibrant café located at the historic Kilmacthomas Workhouse, serving high-quality food and drinks that celebrate local produce and contemporary Irish café culture. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team.
Position: Chef de Partie
Location: Coach House Coffee, Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford
Reports to: Head Chef / Sous Chef
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation & Cooking
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes in line with kitchen standards and recipes.
  • Maintain portion control and consistency across all menu items.
  • Support daily service across breakfast, brunch, lunch, and events.
  • Kitchen Operations
  • Assist in the smooth running of a designated section of the kitchen.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-volume service while maintaining quality.
  • Ensure mise en place is prepared and managed effectively for service.
  • Standards & Compliance
  • Uphold HACCP, food hygiene, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Keep workstations, storage, and equipment clean, safe, and organised.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly to management.
  • Teamwork & Development
  • Support junior team members with training and guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, front-of-house, and management.
  • Contribute ideas for menu development and specials, with a focus on local and seasonal produce.

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a café, restaurant, or hotel.
  • Strong knowledge of modern Irish café/brunch cooking and fresh, seasonal produce.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in presentation.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety essential.
  • Flexible, reliable, and positive team player.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €35,000.00-€39,000.00 per year
