CHEF – DERBY LANE

Job Summary
Derby Lane is seeking a Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety standards. In this role, you’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality dishes, leading kitchen operations, and supporting team development to ensure exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook high-quality meals in line with established recipes and standards.
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared safely, efficiently, and consistently.
* Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering skill development and a collaborative team environment.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen in full compliance with food safety regulations.
* Work with management to create new menu items and refine existing offerings based on customer feedback.
* Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies; place orders as needed to maintain smooth operations.
* Assist in onboarding and training new team members on cooking techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen standards.
* Ensure exceptional food presentation and quality, contributing to a positive guest experience.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, and safety standards.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
