What does your day as a Chef de Partie look like? As Chef de Partie, you play a key role in delivering an outstanding dining experience at Restaurant JAQ. Your day starts by aligning with your team on the prep and execution of the a la carte service. You will be responsible for your own station; creating, plating, and perfecting dishes from JAQ’s diverse and trend-forward menu.

You’ll also be involved in preparing meals for our Meetings & Events guests, giving you the opportunity to work with different culinary styles and formats. No two days are the same, which is the beauty of it! Your key responsibilities include:

  • Managing your designated kitchen station independently
  • Preparing and presenting dishes that meet our high-quality standards
  • Ensuring complete mise en place and ordering stock for your section
  • Supervising and mentoring Demi Chef de Partie and kitchen apprentices
  • Monitoring and supporting the completion of required (online) training
  • Leading new culinary projects as assigned by the Executive Chef
  • Contributing to menu development across hotel outlets
  • Following the latest food trends and presentation techniques
  • Ensuring full compliance with HACCP standards
  • Promoting sustainability and environmental awareness
  • Encouraging team spirit and maintaining a positive kitchen culture

Who are you? You are known for your passion in the kitchen, love for food, and ability to keep everything running smoothly under pressure. Your creativity and organizational skills shine through every dish you serve. We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience as Chef de Partie
  • Up-to-date knowledge of food trends and kitchen operations
  • Strong HACCP and social hygiene knowledge
  • A proactive attitude and team spirit
  • Flexibility to work mainly evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus!)
  • Residency in the Rotterdam area required
  • The legal right to work in the Netherlands required
